7. Potential of Korean Animation Industry

Although we are familiar with Japanese and American animation companies, we can not name a single Korean animaton producer. Nobody was aware of Korean animation until Profossor told us there are Korean made animations and cartoons that are exported different places of the world. Who are these animators? Which animations and cartoons did they make? Until I found out about a team called Dr.Movie, I used to think Korean level of animation was at least ten years behind japanese animation. Yesterday, I have watched an animation called 'The sword of a Stranger'. As a student of department of industrial design, I was amazed by the visual effects and other art works. What amazed me more was the Korean names at the credits, after the movie. Although they are unknown to Koreans, they have been in the animation industry since 1990 working mainly with Japanese and American animation entertainments. These are some names of animation they worked on and most of them were major success and watched world wide.
